Getting the best out of your wardrobe isn’t a science but there are some hard fast rules that you should stick to that will give your bank balance a boost at the end of each month. Guys and gals it’s time to get sensible and realise your wardrobe potential!
When you next go shopping, make sure that the garment your deliberating over can be worn with at least three other items in your current wardrobe, you can wear it for three different occasions with adaptations and your able to mix and match it over three seasons successfully.
Invest in some key accessories (statement jewellery, scarves, tights and belts) that will complement at least five different outfits in your wardrobe. Accessories are valuable items when it comes to enhancing or personalising outfits and they can change the look of something quite plain into an absolute seasonal must-have.
Look at current items in your wardrobe and today’s trends. If you think an old suit jacket could be updated by nipping in at the waist to make it appear more flattering then take it to the tailors to refresh its look. You could also update it by sewing a neat bow on the pockets or sleeves, changing the buttons or adding a belt, for example. Adapting your clothes will ensure you’re not wearing the same as everyone else and getting the wear out of an old favourite.
The key is to start at the bottom and work your way up; this means making sure you have perfect fitting trousers, jeans and skirts sorted first, all of which are necessary wardrobe staples. You’ll find mixing and matching tops, shirts, blouses and knitwear for day or evening a pushover and easy to coordinate once these have been prepared.
