Let me make this tip very very clear… Unless they’re gold plated and cost you an absolute fortune, throw your scales away!

In my experience of working with weight loss clients, there is nothing that trips people up faster and more regularly than a set of scales… in my book they should come with a mental health warning.

How will you know you’re being successful? Think about it for a moment… It wouldn’t be on the scales would it? Those little numbers spinning round are never going to feel as good as a friend telling you that you look great or the waistband feeling looser or getting into those jeans or that skirt at the back of the wardrobe… After all, people don’t want to be light, you want to be slim, or thin, weight actually has very little to do with it… 

So please, throw the scales away and set yourself some new goals. Instead of weight let’s go for something else, something far more motivating… what’s the most fun measure you can think of to let yourself know you're losing weight? Why not pop your ideas up on the forum and see who can be the most creative… or if you're struggling with your creative genius have a look on the forum for some inspiration from someone else who’s also on the same journey.
