Chantelle’s style guide to finding your perfect wedding dress:
Ruched or pleated detail using extra fabric coupled with deep necklines on a smaller bust will give the illusion of a fuller shape.
If you have a large bust, be aware that the more detail you wear on it, the larger the appearance. A deep plunge neckline is definitely not advised; a neckline that skims over your natural cleavage will flatter you more with no risk of giving people more than they bargained for.
If you have a heavier frame then your dress and detailing are best kept simple. Too much detail overcomplicates your look and makes you look bigger than you really are, especially with excess fabric detail. Go for matt fabrics as they will flatter you more, shiny satins for example will enhance every sexy curve. Work on showing off your best assets. Remember, less is definitely more!
If you are tall and maybe a little uncomfortable with your height then do remember to wear flats, you won’t necessarily see them underneath your full-length dress anyway.
If you have heavier hips than shoulders then your aim here is to balance out your upper body proportions by wearing detail around the shoulders and neckline. Wider necklines and small cap, puff, ¾ sleeves or even a delicate shrug or bolero type jacket worn over your shoulders are a fabulous way to carry off this look.
If you are petite then small delicate details on your dress will suit your frame and proportions. You’re one of the lucky ladies who can wear pretty much any style of dress easily, but don’t overcrowd your small frame with too much detail, as this will just swamp you.
