Alba is Ali's personal trainer! Quite possibly the friendliest girl on the planet. She is an expert in the small exercises that make a big difference. Alba doesn’t believe in ‘sweating it out’ in the gym, but everybody knows that moderate exercise is good for you, will help you lose weight more quickly and tone you up. Alba has some clever techniques and moves which, if you want to, you can do at home using ordinary everyday items and that fit around a busy lifestyle.

Question

Why am I not losing weight?

Answer

Have you started an exercise regime and are eating a well balanced diet but still not losing any weight? Here are a few suggestions as to why not:

  • Are you getting enough sleep?
  • Are you drinking enough water?
  • Are you missing breakfast? – Eat breakfast every day.  People who eat breakfast tend to consume fewer total calories overall during the day than those that don’t.
  • Are your food portions are too big? – you may be eating healthily but if your portion sizes are huge it could be setting your weight loss attempts back.
  • Maybe you're eating too little? – if you're not eating enough your body will shut down its weight loss mechanisms and hang on to fat.
  • Are you exercising on a regular basis and eating healthily? – For exercise to work you have to do it at least 3 times a week for half an hour continuously or in two 15 minute slots and it needs to be accompanied by a healthy balanced diet.
  • Have you given it enough time - it may take a few weeks before you see some results, remember everybody is different and some people's body will take a little longer to respond to changes than others but you should all feel the immediate feel good factor of eating better and exercising.
