Alba is Ali's personal trainer! Quite possibly the friendliest girl on the planet. She is an expert in the small exercises that make a big difference. Alba doesn’t believe in ‘sweating it out’ in the gym, but everybody knows that moderate exercise is good for you, will help you lose weight more quickly and tone you up. Alba has some clever techniques and moves which, if you want to, you can do at home using ordinary everyday items and that fit around a busy lifestyle.

As women we have a tendency to steer clear of weights.  We’re afraid that we will end up big and bulky as opposed to lean and shapely if we do any type of resistance/weights based exercise. Women don’t actually have enough testosterone in their bodies to bulk up and for someone that did want to put on muscle it is actually very hard to achieve and requires a very specific training and nutrition plan.

Many women clients who initially come to me don’t realise that they will achieve the lean and shapely body they want by actually doing weight-bearing training.  This type of exercise also boosts your metabolism and allows you to burn more calories even when you’re just chilling on the sofa or sleeping.  Weight-bearing exercise is also specifically beneficial to us women to help prevent osteoporosis later in life.  Therefore taking into account that you won’t bulk up but in fact define your figure and all the extra benefits weight-bearing exercise brings women should be lifting weights!!
