Getting going part 2… please do not read this till next week or after you are comfortable with the ideas in part 1… Drink! An odd one when we’re talking about weight loss but drinking plenty of water will definitely help you lose weight, (caffeine and booze don’t count though) your body burns fat much better when well hydrated, as well as making your muscles look full and tight, it’s....

As we flew low over the Scottish highlands, our little plane being buffeted by the wind and thermal air currents, I couldn’t help but wonder if this was what some people felt like in their lives… Continually being blown off course and fighting to make any progress in the right direction. This flight was the culmination of a period of great flux and change in my own life and a scenic flight....

"Sticks and Stones may hurt my bones but words will do no harm." Balderdash! Words are infinitely more powerful than sticks and stones. You can use words to hurt or you can use them to heal Words are neurotransmitters which generate very powerful reactions and sometimes long term affect in the people at whom they are directed. And when we learn to use words with exquisite....

In NLP we know that success doesn’t exist. That’s not to say that you cannot be successful. It simply means that success is a nominalization, a concept not a thing. It’s an idea before the mind that only you can validate. While the trappings of success like a shiny new car, large house or beautiful family can be visible for all to see. Success is none (or all) of these things. Success....

START TODAY !! – you know what they say don't put off for tomorrow what you can do today - the longer you leave it the harder it will be. Make workouts a part of your life, rather than something you do if you have time. If you miss a workout don’t worry – just get back on track the next day. If your regularly missing your workouts – look into why? – are your goals....

We all have different strategies for doing things. Being aware of someone’s strategies means that you are prepared for how they might react to things and you understand why they react the way they do. It also means that you can use these strategies to communicate more harmoniously. Meanwhile, here’s some ways people have of behaving that you might notice now that you’re aware of....

Now let me explain that statement. If you see the world as a friendly place, you'll tend to notice the ways in which things work out for the best. Because you're looking for 'friendly' things to happen, you're that much more likely to find them. At times, you may even create them with your intention and actions. This ‘Law of Attraction’ has been known for centuries. What you believe and....

(Written last summer) It was the longest day of the year yesterday and boy it felt like it! I spent the day painting my house; someone (who shall remain nameless) said it would be quite therapeutic. It’s not! Well not for me anyway, but it did get me thinking about how we all gloss over irritations in our lives (sorry I know that was terrible but it really was a long day). Research has....

Can working out in the morning burn more calories? I personally love working out in the morning, yes I know to some of you this may be madness but my reasons for choosing this time are because It really sets me up for the day after my morning workout I feel ready for anything!! By exercising in the morning it means it’s done. I’m not very good at waiting until the evening to workout....

It’s 9 a.m. I’m back from dropping off my daughter at school, and it’s time to work on My Novel, the one that I’ve talked about writing for years and have actually been working on for four. I’m so committed to writing this opus, I’ve downscaled my life, shrunk my coaching practice, and stopped saying yes to many outside commitments. But by 9:30, I’ve already checked my e-mail....

Having a goal is great for motivation – whether you want to lose weight for a holiday, or increase your cardiovascular fitness, a goal gives you something to aim for. Set your goals out into Short term, Medium term and Long term, this way your goals wont seem so big and unachieveable with smaller goal posts you're more likely to stick to them and really achieve success.

I often learn as much if not more from my clients then they learn from me. A few weeks ago I received a call from a client I had successfully treated years ago. She was in a bad way, she felt she’d been robbed of the future she hoped for and had given up on her life. Her call was a last cry for help. She was convinced it was time for her to step off this mortal coil in the hope of a better....

When exercising make sure you know the muscles that the exercise is working and really try to picture these and how with every movement they are getting even more shapely. This will help you to keep motivated and also ensure that the correct muscles are being worked.

Communication is like a game of chess – you have to be aware of the potential moves and the effect they can have not just on the moment, but on the entire game. Each move you make will influence the move the other person makes and vice versa. If you make the first move, you are showing them the way and opening the channels. The opening moves of any communication are vital. Get them right and....

How do you rate yourself as a communicator? Are you effective, powerful and attractive or is there room for improvement? The questions below are intended to make you think about how you communicate, what you communicate and how well you appear to be understood and where some improvement is required! As you read them through, pay attention to those scenarios that seem to leap out from the page.....
